AI Competencies Think Tank: What Do Students and Teachers Need to Know How to Do?

With the pace of change in artificial intelligence, how do school curriculum leaders know what we should be teaching our teachers in the coming years? What competencies should we pursue and what might mastery look like, if it exists? This think tank will help us all consolidate our collective research, experience, wonderings, intuition and thinking into a functional model we can use in our schools. We won’t start from scratch; there is plenty of material out there to stitch together, so bring yourselves and any level of prior knowledge to learn, contribute, and imagine.

Facilitated By

Kevin Crouch

北京京西学校 Western Academy of Beijing

As the Head of EdTech and IT at the Western Academy of Beijing, Kevin is motivated by the belief that all people can achieve in outstanding ways when led with compassion and trust toward a deeper sense of meaning in their work and learning.

Kevin has embodied this philosophy in his twenty two year journey as a teacher, curriculum leader, technology coach, consultant, and technology director. Whether pioneering Project-Based Learning in his classes, leading Digital-Age transformations, or coaching school and teacher leaders on how to create the essential conditions for learning innovation, Kevin has always been at the forefront of the paradigm shift in education. I build confidence, develop courage, and cultivate a vision. When all your kids have technology in their hands, Kevin will know what to do next.
