Rethinking Assessment with AI

In this session, I will share a model lesson demonstrating how AI can be meaningfully integrated into planning and assessment within the PYP classroom. The focus will be on how educators can begin with clear learning goals and success criteria, and then use AI as a tool to design engaging learning experiences and create aligned assessment strategies.

The session will explore how AI can support teachers in:

  • Designing purposeful, inquiry-based lessons
  • Creating formative and summative assessment tools
  • Generating differentiated next steps based on student performance
  • Supporting IEP goals and personalized learning pathways
  • Segregating and organizing assessment data for clearer insights
  • Identifying learning gaps and planning targeted interventions

Participants will leave with practical strategies to make assessment more efficient, data-informed, and responsive — while keeping student agency and authentic learning at the center.

IB PYP Educator, Heritage International Xperiential School, Gurgaon, India

I am an IB-certified CAT 1 PYP educator based in Gurugram, India, currently working at Heritage International Xperiential School. Throughout my journey as an educator, I have always aimed to make learning hands-on, engaging, and joyful for young learners. Most days, I find myself brainstorming creative ideas, diving deep into research, and drawing inspiration from fellow educators to design meaningful learning experiences.
With technology evolving rapidly and AI offering powerful tools, lesson planning has become more efficient and purposeful. AI not only saves valuable time but also supports me in assessing student learning more effectively. As educators, being clear about our learning goals and assessment criteria is essential. Once that clarity is in place, AI can serve as a reliable partner—enhancing efficiency, personalizing learning, and allowing us to focus more on what truly matters: our students.
