Art, AI and Authenticity

In an age where algorithms can generate and render artwork in seconds, what does ‘authenticity’ really mean in creative practice? This interactive, discursive session invites Arts educators from all fields and sections to review provocations around AI generated art, share their own explorations into using it with children of all ages and to question whether our creative sense as humans will be eroded or expanded when we employ AGI in the future.

I aim to guide participants through shared conversations, with the aim of forming some collaborative agreements on how we implement the tools into our teaching. I am also keen to bring our own sense of art making back to basics and remember why we first started drawing on cave walls when there were many other survival-related activities to do instead!
