Systems Thinking and Workflow Mapping for Better AI Implementation
Successful AI integration starts with system architecture, not tool selection. This session equips educators with cross-disciplinary systems thinking and workflow mapping protocols to audit any school system or process. By deeply understanding the systems and processes they work within, educators can locate high-leverage points to use AI tools. While applicable across all departments, this session will demonstrate these concepts by using examples within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model, showcasing how AI tools were strategical integrated to support students. Participants can expect to walk away with a variety of frameworks they can use to make better decisions about where, when, and how they apply AI tools into their practice.

Matt currently serves as a Learning Support Coordinator at an international school in China. Over the past nine years across Thailand and China, he has worked as an EAL Teacher, Learning Support Teacher, and Learning Support Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor’s in Special Education, a Master’s in Teaching English Language Learners, and an Educational Specialist degree focused on Literacy Leadership. Matt is passionate and interested in the beliefs, systems, and practices international schools use to live out their inclusive missions. Outside of education, you can find him in the water swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, or eFoiling.
