Human Creativity, AI Precision: Designing Better Learning Experiences
A practical one-hour workshop exploring how educators can use AI image tools to create more engaging, inclusive and consistent learning experiences without losing creativity, teacher voice or professional judgement. The human supplies the idea; the AI supplies the precision.
Many teachers are searching for practical ways to move beyond generic outputs and use AI meaningfully within real classroom contexts. At the heart of this session are two purpose-built prompt maker apps. In The Precinct, a noir-styled comic world for secondary students and adults, participants describe an idea in their own words and receive a tailored prompt for their chosen tool, such as Gemini, ChatGPT or Copilot, along with the reasoning behind it. Progress is earned through scaffolded levels: participants describe their generated image back to the app, which compares it with their original intent before they level up. Paws & Order brings the same approach to primary-aged students in a playful, child-friendly comic setting.
Through authentic classroom examples, live demonstrations and repeatable workflows, participants will create their own image and a consistent character, see how these build into a sequenced comic, and explore how Canva Magic AI can act as a finishing stage, cleaning up generated images into polished, classroom-friendly comic pages. Along the way, the session shows how carefully designed prompts and creative systems can improve student engagement, strengthen visual literacy and accessibility, and reduce the workload involved in producing high-quality resources across nearly all disciplines and subject areas.
The workshop is designed to be immediately applicable. Educators will leave with hands-on experience of both apps, a repeatable workflow from first idea to finished comic page, and a clear route for bringing it into their own classrooms.
