What Skills Should We Be Teaching Our Young People in an Age of AI?

Kevin will provide a perspective of what he’s seeing on the front lines about how AI is changing the landscape of jobs and careers of the future. You get to hear about this first hand about the discussion he and his firm are having with companies about what they are looking for in new recruits as they navigate a quickly changing environment. When AI can do many of the tasks traditionally delegated to new hires, how does that change how companies hire and what does it mean for schools in terms of what they can do to best prepare for an uncertain world?

Managing Director, Blu Artificial Intelligence

Kevin Pereira is currently a Managing Director at Blu Artificial Intelligence, a consulting firm that specializes in Artificial Intelligence. After growing up in Hong Kong, he started his career in Private Banking with Citi in New York. He then moved back to Hong Kong and joined Bank of New York Mellon’s Asset Management business, where he helped to start a new group that specialized in products tailored to High Net Worth Individuals. After obtaining his MBA, Kevin worked at a technology startup in Myanmar that was building internet infrastructure which included fiber optic, cell towers and data centers. Kevin is also currently an Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) teaching “AI in Marketing” and “Big Data in Finance” to MBAs and other Masters’ students. At the University of Hong Kong (HKU), he teaches an MBA course titled, “Artificial Intelligence for Business Leaders”.

Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in Finance, Management and Marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has an MBA from INSEAD.
