Using AI to Review Curriculum

In this session we will explore how AI can be used by teachers, teaching teams or departments to explore their curriculum to identify areas of strength and weakness. The example we will look at is from a tenth-grade interdisciplinary class that incorporates biology, AP history, English and design. Their goal was to identify for each subject what standards they were doing well, and which they were missing, then to identify areas where each curriculum could be supporting the others to increase the level of interdisciplinary teaching. We’ll look at how we designed the bot to achieve this and at the results it produced. Lastly, together we will explore how this could be adapted to your context using the AI tools of your choice.

Instructional Technology Coach, Shanghai American School

Originally an ESL teacher in the Peace Corps for two years, then a History teacher, with a little DT thrown in for fun I now find myself settling into the role of tech coach for the last nine years. We have lived in Kętrzyn, Mexico City, Riyadh, Loveland, Harare and Shanghai. I hope that my experiences and excitement for the topic will come through and you will leave this session jazzed about what you can do with AI.
