Reimagining Creativity with AI through Informal Learning

This workshop invites educators to reimagine creativity with AI, guided by the principles of informal learning: curiosity, play, collaboration, and learner agency. Just as musicians, makers, and artists often learn outside classrooms through tinkering, peer exchange, and self-directed exploration, AI offers new ways for students to discover, invent, and create.
Participants will engage hands-on with AI tools that generate ideas, spark unexpected directions, and help overcome creative barriers. Activities will mirror informal learning practices: experimenting freely, sharing outcomes, and reflecting together. Alongside this playful exploration, we’ll tackle critical questions: How do we keep student voice central when AI suggests solutions? How can schools blend technological fluency with the creative risk-taking that innovation requires?
