AI Literacy for MS Students using AI Google Quest
This 30-minute model lesson invites educators to explore how middle school students can develop meaningful AI literacy through a thoughtfully curated, classroom-ready experience. Drawing on trusted resources from Google AI Quest, with extended learning from Code.org, Raspberry Pi, and Experience AI, the session highlights how high-quality materials from reputable educational organizations can be adapted for everyday classroom use. Teachers will walk away with practical ideas for using these resources to help students understand how AI and machine learning work, what AI can and cannot do, and how data influences AI systems. The workshop models an engaging, student-centered lesson that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and responsible AI use while supporting educators in building future-ready learning experiences.

Starcrest Alcorcon is a Middle School Design & Technology Teacher at Chiang Mai International School with over a decade of experience in educational and design technology. Formerly an Educational Technology Integrator at International School Manila, she has worked closely with educators to integrate technology AI and emerging technologies into authentic classroom practice. A Google and ISTE Certified Educator, and Certified Instructional Coach, she is a strong advocate for developing curiosity, adaptability, ethical decision-making, and critical thinking. Her work focuses on empowering students and teachers to use AI responsibly while fostering creativity, digital citizenship, and innovation.
