Dugga is born out of scientific research and is a digital test platform used to conduct digital tests, exams, home exams, digital lessons, assignments, and other types of knowledge assessment in education. The platform is tailor made for Higher Education, Corporate Education and the K12 space. Dugga AB is a Swedish company that runs and develops the Dugga platform.

The platform Dugga is the result of a research project from 2012 in which researchers and developers participated, among others, from the Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm University, the University of Nijmegen Arnhem, the Royal Institute of Technology, Umeå University, Stics Research, Brüggemann System and also in collaboration with esteemed partners such as ETH Zürich and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

In connection with this research and development work, Dugga, as the only digital test platform, received funding from the Swedish innovation authority Vinnova under the ministry of industry. Since 2016, Dugga has been a partner with Microsoft and has several research and development projects in the field of digital examinations and how to employ artificial intelligence to support the examination process.

Dugga was officially launched at Stanford University, California, USA in the fall of 2015.
