From Instant to Intentional: A Pedagogy of Responsible AI Use
This session explores how educators can intentionally design AI-enhanced tasks that promote metacognition. Through practical frameworks and real examples, participants will learn how to plan for purposeful AI use, both in teacher workflow and student engagement to deepen learning. The session also introduces tools that support critical thinking and reflection, helping strike a balance between efficiency and meaningful, student-centered learning.

Roselyn Baronia is the whole-school lead for both Computer Science and technology integration. She coaches teachers, provides in-class support, runs professional development on emerging tech and AI, and troubleshoots classroom tech challenges—all while leading the development of school-wide AI strategies and policy. She also heads her school’s AI exploratory group. A regular speaker at education technology conferences, she’s passionate about helping teachers save time, spark deeper learning, and make complex technology feel both practical and empowering.
